Introducing Dr. Morgan Lorio

Morgan P. Lorio, MD, FACS, Orthopaedic Spine and Hand Surgeon is triple board certified in spine, orthopaedic and hand surgery. Since recovering from a significant spinal injury, he has become a renowned advocate for spinal injuries, an expert in spine policy, and a notable pioneer in spinal technology. He has special interests in cervical spine pathology affecting the upper extremity, artificial discs, motion preservation, and minimally invasive spinal surgery, as well as in issues particular to the female spine, such as sacroiliac joint disease and vertebral augmentation.

1984
Bachelors of Science

Dr. Morgan P. Lorio completed his undergraduate education at LSU – Baton Rouge, where he received a B.S. in Biochemistry.

1988
Doctor of Medicine

Dedicated to undertaking a career in orthopedics, Dr. Lorio earned his medical degree from LSU – Shreveport’s medical school.

1990
Residency

After fulfilling his didactic requirements, Dr. Morgan P. Lorio performed a two-year course of additional study in General Surgery at SUNY- Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.

1994
Chief Resident of Orthopedic Surgery

This was followed by a longer 4-year residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the institution. In recognition of his surgical mastery, Dr. Lorio was honored with the title of Chief Resident of Orthopedic Surgery in 1993.
